How to Pick Cherries

You can visit us and purchase all our usual products from Wombat Cellars (aka The Grog Shed) in the town of Wombat, next to the Wombat Pub from Thursday to Sunday 10am - 4pm. We also have a selection of the Hilltops Wines for sale.

  1. When you pick cherries it is better to pick the cherry with the stalk on as the fruit does not bruise that way.
  2. Cherries grow from a spur or spike coming out from the branch. Try not to break this off as next year this spur or spike will grow longer and produce more cherries.
  3. Use a twisting motion when you break the cherry stalks off the bud and then place gently into your bucket.
